Live the underwater world of the Riviera Maya 

Your excursion starts in the morning with transportation from your resort to Turtle Bay in the Riviera Maya, where a guide will prepare you with the gear necessary for your first snorkeling activity in the Caribbean Sea. Take a boat ride to visit the splendor of the Mesoamerican Reef and make a splash once you’re there.

See colorful sea life swimming all around you, such as gentle turtles floating and schools of fish darting around the colorful barrier reef. Enjoy the peace of the turquoise sea waters until your swim concludes, then get back into your boat for the return to land, where transportation awaits to take you to the depths of the Mayan jungle.

 

Swim in the Riviera Maya underground at a cenote

The next part of your underwater world snorkeling adventure takes place in an underground cenote, a water-filled cave that the Mayans considered a gateway to their gods. Listen to your guide for safety pointers and fascinating facts about the cenote as you put on a neoprene suit and vest along with your snorkel gear.

Once you’ve descended into the underground cavern, get in the water and let the fresh cenote waters take you on a gentle ride to view incredible stalactites above the cave and use your snorkel mask to view the stalagmites and other rock formations below the water. After your divine snorkeling underwater encounter, return to the surface and reenergize with a couple of empanadas before heading back to your resort.
